The Financial Supervisory Authority of the Central Bank of Iceland has granted Íslenskir fjárfestar hf. a broader operating licence, which includes asset management services, the authorisation to oversee auctions without underwriting and the admission of securities to trading in addition to custody services. In addition to the broadening of ACRO’s operating licence, structural changes have been made and the company’s operations are now conducted in two areas: capital markets and asset management. Gunnar Freyr Gunnarsson will lead the capital markets division of Icelandic Investors Ltd and Tómas Karl Aðalsteinsson will lead the asset management division.

Hannes Árdal, CEO of Icelandic Investors:

“It is a pleasure for us at Íslenskir fjárfestar hf. to have been granted a broader operating licence. Since 2018, the company has grown by leaps and bounds and these changes are a natural next step, which enable us to provide customers with even better services. The authorisation to make placements  without underwriting will further boost capital market operations and the authorisation to conduct asset management will enable us to offer clients investment advisory with increased services in the form of asset management and custody services.”

Tómas Karl Aðalsteinsson, Head of Asset Management of Icelandic Investors:

“In recent years, we have built up solid investment advisory services for individuals and legal entities and felt customers’ growing interest in a wider range of services. We will continue to focus on personal and independent advice with the long-term interests of our clients in mind.”
